Though there was no official word about the child' safety so far, the rescuers hope that they will eb able to extract him alive and safely. Three earth moving machines have begun digging next to the well in a bid to reach the child.
The 150-foot-borewell was dug by a farmer, also from the same village. According to the child's Sailu and Mogulamma, the well was abandoned only on Saturday morning by the farmer Kummari Ramulu who failed to hit water.
Rakesh was playing near his house, barely a couple of hundred meters from his house and his parents say that they saw their son disappear into the hole and raised an alarm.
Rescue operations are being overseen by the local sub-inspector of police Satyanarayana and the Pulkal sarpanch Shobha.
